1 Confirmation document of identity + My Number
When submitting to your employer after employment or opening a securities account such as NISA (small investment tax exemption system), you will be required to confirm your My Number along with your identity verification documents. If you have a My Number Card, you can complete the procedure with this one.
2. You can get a copy of resident certificate at a convenience store
Through the convenience store delivery service, Yokohama City issued approximately 500,000 certificates in FY2021. Some certificates, such as copies of resident certificate, have a fee of 50 yen lower than the counter.

3. Online procedures such as transfer notification and final tax return can be performed.
In the online procedure corresponding to My Number Card, you can proceed without going to the counter. For example, in the online procedure for transfer notification, there were about 10,000 usages in Yokohama City in 2021.
In addition, tax return (e-Tax (electronic national tax return and tax payment system)), it is said that the payment of the refund is earlier than the window procedure (e-Tax is about 3 weeks for the submitted refund declaration)
※Online procedures require a smartphone or IC card reader and a personal computer that supports reading My Number card are required.

In addition, from Monday, March 27, 2023, it is now possible to apply for renewal applications when the remaining validity period of the passport is less than one year from a smartphone or computer. 4 Can obtain a new coronavirus vaccination certificate (electronic version)
You can issue a new coronavirus vaccination certificate (electronic version) immediately with a dedicated smartphone application (free of charge).
※You need a smartphone that supports My Number card reading.

5 It can be used as a health insurance card
Even the first medical institution can share specific medical examination information and drug information with doctors etc.

6 The use of private online services is also expanding.
The use of cards is also expanding in private services, such as online identity verification in QR code payment services. (* "QR Code") is a registered trademark of DENSO Corporation Wave.)
