About summary of my number card (electronic certificate)
My Number Card is a card that allows you to prove your My Number (Personal Number) and identify yourself at the same time. About application method, please see page about application of my number card.

Digital certificates (Public Personal Authentication Service)
Electronic certificate for user certification
- It is used when logging in to an Internet site, kiosk terminal, etc.
- Log in to administrative sites (minor portals, etc.)
- It is also used when linking your health insurance card.
- Log in to private sites (online banking, etc.)
- Use of convenience store delivery service
- Log in to administrative sites (minor portals, etc.)
- You can prove that the person who logged in is you.
Digital certificate for signature
- It is used when creating and sending electronic documents on the Internet.
- Electronic application (e-Tax, etc.)
- Registration of private online transactions (online banking, etc.)
- You can prove that the electronic document created and sent is the genuine one you created and the one you sent.
※If you are under the age of 15, you will not be equipped with a digital certificate for signature in principle.

※If you have a My Number card equipped with two types of digital certificates and only reissue a digital certificate for signature due to Address or a change in name, the expiration date of the digital certificate for user certification is set as the expiration date of the digital certificate for signature to be reissued.

When the expiration date of the period of stay or the status of residence changes
If there is an extension of the expiration date of the period of stay, acquisition of permanent residence, naturalization, special period of stay, etc., it is necessary to change the expiration date of My Number Card and reissue a digital certificate. How to confirm the expiration date of the digital certificate
You can check the expiration date of the digital certificate from the dedicated application of the public personal authentication service called user client software. For details, please see the official personal authentication service portal site (outside site).

Smartphone card reader compatible with My Number Card
Smartphones and card readers that support My Number Cards are available on the public personal authentication service portal site. Please check in advance and use it.

About copying and posting of my number
Copying and posting of My Number on the back is prohibited (*), so please be careful when presenting your My Number Card as identification documents at the counter.
※Excludes cases where the use of My Number is legally permitted in the fields of social security, tax and disaster preparedness.
