About change of Address and name of my number card

If the expiration date of your period of stay is changed for Address, your name, or foreign nationals, you will need to change the information on your My Number Card at the Family Registry Division Registration Section ward office.

  • (Foreign nationals) Changes in the expiration date due to extension of the expiration date of the period of stay
  • (Foreign nationals) Change of expiration date due to the acquisition of permanent residence rights

What is required for the procedure

It is necessary to enter a PIN for the Basic Resident Register (4 digits) (excluding optional proxy/agent)

※If the voluntary proxy/agent performs the procedure instead, it will be handled by the document inquiry method (at a later date). It will take several days to complete the procedure, so please allow enough time.

  1. After the voluntary proxy/agent procedure, the ward office will send you an inquiry and power of attorney to confirm your PIN.
  2. Please fill in the inquiry form and power of attorney with your signature, password, etc.
  3. Please delegate to voluntarily proxy/agent to submit your My Number Card, Inquiry Form and Power of Attorney to the ward office.
  4. At the ward office, add your Address, name and expiration date and return it to proxy/agent.

For those who are using a digital certificate for signature

The digital certificate for signature will expire upon Address or the name change. If you would like to receive the information, please contact us at the same time.

If a same household member is to be processed

If a member of the same household submits an application for the issuance of a digital certificate for signature on behalf of the individual, the procedure can be completed on the same day as the transfer or relocation notification is not required. Please prepare a letter of attorney and password written by the person, put it in an envelope and seal it with proxy/agent.

For those who renew within 3 months before the expiration date of the digital certificate or issue a digital certificate for user certification

About transfer from outside Yokohama city

In the case of transfer from outside Yokohama City, your My Number Card will expire after one of the following dates, so please be sure to complete the procedure by the deadline.

  1. When 30 days have passed since the scheduled transfer date notified at the time of transfer notification in the previous Address area
  2. When 14 days have passed since the date of actual transfer
  3. When 90 days have passed since the date of notification of transfer notification

About full column in the entry column

If the entry field is full, the new Address or name cannot be entered, so the card itself will be reissued. Specifically, please see page about full column of postscript column of my number card or re-grant due to loss.
