EATA(Europe Asia Trades Agreement)
An agreement formed by 18 major alliances and 18 non-member companies to discuss the stabilization of the route on the East Asia-Asia route.
E/D(Export Declaration)
Export declaration. Documents to be submitted by the shipper to customs customs clearance the exported goods.
EDI(Electronic Date Interchange)
Electronic data exchange. The exchange of data related to paperwork, commercial transactions, etc. between different users directly between computers under widely agreed standard rules.
EDO(Equipment Despatch Order)
Container equipment delivery instructions. Orders issued to the CY operator when lending containers to shippers. As a result, the bunning location, carry-in CY, or the return location of the container are specified.
EEA(European Economic Area)
European Economic Area. An economic zone that integrates the EC (European Community) and EFTA (Europe Free Trade Union) markets. A plan to create a free, unified market for people, goods, money, and services between the two Member States. Started in January 1994 except Switzerland. The world's largest unified market with a population of 390 million and a total regional production of $6.99 million (1991 results).
EFTA(European Free Trade Association)
The European Free Trade Union. In 1960, seven countries, U.K., Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Austria, and Portugal, surrounding EC member states. The EC of the six member states was called Inner 6, whereas the EC was called Inner 6.
In 1973, U.K. and Denmark withdrew and joined the EC, and then Ireland and Finland joined. In 1986, Portugal joined the EC. Austria and Sweden are now in the direction of joining the EC and substantially dismantlement.
E/L(Export Licence)
Export approval letter. When attempting to export certain regulated items (diamond rough diamonds, blood products, waste, nuclear fuel materials, etc.) listed in Appendix 2 of the Export Trade Control Ordinance (Government Ordinance No. 378 of 1949), it will be issued with the approval of the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry in advance.

EMA(Eastbound Management Agreement for the North Europe / Asia Trade)
A fare agreement that has jurisdiction over Nordic/Asia routes. Since January 1992, the European Alliance has divided its jurisdiction into Japan/Europe, Far East/Europe, and Europe/Asia, and the EMA has jurisdiction over the return of the former European Union (East Asia).

EMS(European Monetary System)
European currency system. It was established in 1979 with a fixed exchange rate system in which the EU (European Union) member states to keep fluctuations within a certain range, and a floating exchange rate system for foreign currency currencies. The exchange rate fluctuation between ECU and member countries is set within 2,25% above and below, and if the direct exchange rate is likely to deviate from this, unlimited market intervention will prevent this.

ERI(Equipment Receipt In)
Container equipment delivery form. A document that describes the inspection results for container delivery at CY, signed by the CY operator and the shipper (mainly a container port operator) and confirms the consignee.
ERO(Equipment Receipt Out)
Container equipment delivery form. Documents in which the shipping company lends an empty container, describes the container inspection results, signs mutually signed with the shipper, and confirms delivery.
ESC(European Shipper’s Council)
Established in September 1963 by six countries: U.K., Belgium, France, West Germany, the Netherlands and Norway. It is to promote and support the common interests of Member States shippers on all issues related to the sea and related complex transportation of goods Currently, there are 16 shipper associations in 16 countries, from Scandinavia to Israel.
ESCAP(Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific)
United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific. The predecessor was ECAFE, which was established in 1947, and was renamed in 1974. Japan joined in 1954. The United States, Britain, France, the Netherlands and Russia are also members of the United States, Britain, France, the Netherlands and Russia. The headquarters is located in Bangkok.
