Freight index showing the charter fee for a tanker voyage (Yosen Ryo). It is represented by an index as the standard fare 100 for major routes such as the Persian Gulf and Japan. Standard fares are announced by London and New York World Scale Association on January 1 and July 1 every year in consideration of fuel costs and seafarers wage levels.
