　Happy New Year. I would like to thank all of you for welcoming the New Year.
　Last year was a year in which daily life gradually returned due to the effects of the new coronavirus infection, and various activities in the region were restarted. The "Nishi Ward People's Festival" was held in Tobe Koen and Nisimae Elementary School for the first time in four years.
　This year marks the 80th anniversary of the constituency system. With this as an opportunity, we will promote the 80th anniversary of the Nishi Ward as a whole, in cooperation with local organizations, schools, shopping streets, and companies, to deepen their attachment to the community. In addition, we will steadily promote the "Fourth Nikomachi Plan," a comprehensive plan of Nishi Ward, and we will work on each business with the aim of creating safe and secure towns, including disaster countermeasures, support for raising children, and improving services for all generations. In addition, we will focus on fostering momentum and decarbonization initiatives for GREEN x EXPO 2027.
　This year's letter of “dark” means “the road can be connected”. The connections that have been nurtured with the local community so far, and the various connections that will be nurtured while celebrating together are transient. I think that it will be a path that will lead to a bright future with the 80th anniversary of the constituency system, we will open up the road and lead to a bright future.
