Nice communication! June 3 Asama Shrine Festival

The Asama Shrine annual festival was held for the first time in four years.

Last update date June 15, 2023

The Asama Shrine annual festival was held for the first time in four years, and on June 3 (Saturday), a cruising of Miyamikoshi was held.
Mikoshi is regarded as a vehicle of God, and the mikoshi owned by the shrine is called "Miyami Mikoshi". It is said that the mikoshi on which the god rides travel around the area to absorb and purify the evils and injuries in the area, and to listen to the prayers for good harvest. That's right.
On the day of the event, it was a cruise in the rain due to the typhoon, but the bearers were able to carry mikoshi and walk around the area, and a lively shout was flying.
There are a number of sacred sake breweries (Omikisho) where mikoshi breaks on the route, and local people prepare food and sake offered to the shrine, and I felt again that the ancient Japanese tradition is valued.
In the afternoon, the rain rose and the blue sky was seen, and hundreds of stalls were lined up on the approach to Asama (former Tokaido), and it was crowded with many people, and I realized that my usual appearance had returned.
Thanks to the efforts of the local people and many people who love Asama Shrine, this annual festival was held safely with the efforts of many people who love Asama Shrine, and as a ward office, cherishes the history and tradition of Nishi Ward. We will continue to work with the feeling of "new".
