Last Updated June 15, 2023

The Asama Shrine annual festival was held for the first time in four years, and on June 3 (Saturday), a shrine cruise was held.
The portable shrine is considered a vehicle of God, and the portable shrine owned by the shrine is called "Miya Mikoshi". It is said that the mikoshi on which God rides travels around the area to absorb and purify the disasters and injuries in the area, and to listen to people's prayers for good harvest. is.
The day was a cruise in the rain due to the effects of the typhoon, but safely, the bearers were able to carry mikoshi and parade around the area, and a lively shout was flying.
There are a number of sacred sake shops (Omikisho) where mikoshi rests on the route to which local people offer in front of God, and that the ancient Japanese tradition is valued. I felt it again.
In the afternoon, the rain rose and the blue sky was visible, and hundreds of stalls were lined up on the approach to Asama (former Tokaido), which was crowded with many people, and I realized that my usual appearance had returned.
We would like to thank the local people and many people who love Asama Shrine for their efforts, and as a ward office, we will continue to work withNishi Ward's history and tradition.
