Last update date July 13, 2023

On Sunday, July 2, the 73rd Nishi Ward Promotion Conference was held in West public hall. The program of the day consisted of three parts, the first part was the "5th District Junior Volunteer 5 Appointment Ceremony", the second part was the "Message Communication Ceremony for the Prime Minister of the Movement to Brighten Society", and the third part was "Ukraine Support Concert". In addition, the members of the brass band, the Japanese drum club, the sign language club, and the Hiranuma Marching Band showed their daily results and excited the venue.

In the first part of the “Fifth District Junior Volunteer 5 Appointment Ceremony”, a total of 35 students, from elementary school to high school students, were appointed as junior volunteers in 2023. In this initiative, local children volunteer at various events and welfare projects held in the fifth district using the summer vacation and other activities, and as a unique initiative in the fifth district in FY2018 Continued from This is an approach that attracts very attention while the shortage of workers in the area has become an issue. I would like you to gain a lot of experiences that you cannot learn from ordinary classes alone, such as deepening your understanding of welfare and volunteers, and fostering appreciation and compassion. The light blue bibs (bibs) is a landmark. If you see it at an event, please support us.
The second part was the "Message Communication Ceremony for the Prime Minister of the Movement to Brighten Society." The Movement to Brighten Society is a system in which all citizens deepen their understanding of the prevention of crime and delinquency and the rehabilitation of those who committed crimes and delinquencies, work together in their respective positions, and are safe and secure without crime and delinquency. It is said that this is the 73rd nationwide movement to build a bright local community. This year's theme is "Living the difficulty of living."
In the background of crime and delinquency, there are many "difficulty to live" such as unwanted loneliness and social isolation. The Prime Minister's message stated that it is important to create an area where people can support each other by snuggle up to this difficulty in living. This concept is in common with the Nishi Ward Community Welfare and Health Plan "Nikomachi Plan," which aims to create a happy and happy life." I would like to thank the Nishi Ward Presidency, the Nishi Ward Women's Rehabilitation Association and the Nishi Ward BBS Association for their hard work every day.
In the third part, entitled "Ukraine Support Concert", a Ukrainian-born Katerina played and spoken of the folk instrument Vandula. I was fascinated by the beautiful tone and singing voice, and once again carved the preciousness of peace in my heart. Finally, in response to the encore, they sang "Hometown" with everyone at the venue, and everyone's heart became one.

I would like to express my sincere thanks to the efforts of many stakeholders, the 73rd Nishi Ward Promotion Conference to Brighten Society. Aiming at "a town where everyone can smile and happiness with care about connection", ward office will work with local everybody. Thank you very much for your cooperation.

July 2, 2023 Kenji Kikuchi, Director General of Nishi
