Last Updated December 25, 2023
On November 22nd (Wednesday), the final presentation of the Kanagawa University Collaborative Project and Problem Solving Learning (PBL) program was held.
In this program, students propose a sightseeing plan from a new perspective on the current situation and challenges of Nishi Ward, where the development of the Minato Mirai area and the traditional city that preserves a downtown atmosphere coexist. As an industry-academia-government collaboration project with Kanagawa University, which has concluded an agreement to promote collaboration with Nishi Ward Office, we have been studying since the end of FY2022.
There were 17 students from 5 teams participating in the program. The four programs were a short period of about one month, but they deepened their learning through first lectures and fieldwork by guest speakers.
In the final lecture, guest speakers from the first lecture also participated, giving presentations on sightseeing plans for the targets set by each team. Each group presented presentations that included a variety of ideas and ideas in the plan structure and how to show materials. In the presentation, various comments were exchanged, such as flowers blossomed on the topic of the spots visited during fieldwork, and advice from the perspective of funding planning when implementing them. Every comment was impressive with the students who listened and answered seriously.
I hope that Kanagawa University students will deepen their ties with each region of Nishi Ward through various opportunities, including the PBL program, and discover and communicate the appeal of Nishi Ward from a student perspective.
I would also be grateful if you could give us some hints about your future through your connection in Nishi Ward. I hope that all of the students who participated this time will be active in the future.
Kanagawa University Social Cooperation Department, Chick Travel Center Yokohama Minato Mirai Sales Office, representative of "Nishiku City Guide Group" and representative of building guide group "bridge", thank you.
