44.Shintenchi (near 30-17 Minami-Asama-cho)
Near Kofukuji Temple, one of the ancient temples of Nishi Ward, this fruit and vegetable store has been in business for 60 years. In front of the store is National Route 16, Owariya Bridge on the left and Hodogaya on the right. If you go straight, you will find Syaguuji Park surrounded by greenery, but the name comes from the shrine priest Daigongen, the guardian deity of Kofukuji. Also known as "Oshamoji-sama" is also enshrined at Sugiyama Shrine, but it was originally aspiration for pertussis and throat diseases, and it was said that people who visited the shrine in the past did not draw. However, when I visited the temple, it seems that recently it is famous as a god of eye disease.
Another thing behind this shop was "Shintenchi", which was famous as a street of Hanayanagi before the war. It is said that there were 2,30 buildings (Kuruwa *) at its peak, but now it is a quiet residential area and there is no impression of the past.
※ The streets of Hanayagi…Both are places where prostitutes are gathered
