Shiri Kosurizaka on the water supply road

A long time ago, this slope was called Shiri Kosurizaka. The tap road connecting Noge and Nishiya must cross some of the most steep slopes in Yokohama, which has many hills. After all, the name of the hill is that the people who drag the car had to braking with the buttocks because the slope was steep, but it is indeed a slope that the drivers are a bit nervous even today.

In 1887, a water pipe drawn from the confluence of the Sagami River and the Doshi River was laid, so this almost straight road, which leaves the name of a water supply road, descends Mt. Noge and descends twice. Repeat up and down again. And since the old prefectural Daiichi Junior High School (now Kibogaoka High School in Asahi Ward) was located, it also went down the steep hill called Kaminakazaka to Fujidana.
