43.Around City Library in Noge (near Oimatsucho 1)
Surrounded by modern objects, this library has undergone many changes to this day. The concept, which was established in 1919, was forced to live here and there due to financial difficulties, and the Great Kanto Earthquake was finally on track. It was finally built on the site of the former Oimatsu Elementary School in Nogezaka, but was soon requisitioned by the military command in World War II and devastated, and was occupied by the U.S. military after the war. It was in 1994 that it became the present figure.
As an aside, why is Shinto-Buddhist shops stand out in this area? In the past, large temples such as Daisho-in, Hikaru Hayashi-ji, and Josei-ji were lined up in this area. The temple moved to Kuboyama in accordance with the development, but I wonder if these shops were left as a remnant of Monzen-cho?
