　Letter printing, one of the printing methods, has been attracting attention again in recent years because of the physical irregularities formed by the print when printing and unevenness of ink creates a unique texture. The character used for this letterpress printing is "metallic active character".
　The metal active material is lead, tin, and antimony, and the temperature before it is applied to the character's alternate temperature reaches 350 to 400 degrees Celsius and then cooled with water. Mr. Omatsu adjusts the settings of the type casting machine in detail while considering safety, and checks visually and hands to see whether the size and center of the metal active character to be cast are all in the same way.
　In addition, many years of experience has been utilized in the maintenance of type casting machines manufactured in the middle of the Showa era.

After graduating from high school, he joined Tsukiji Entry Co., Ltd., the predecessor of Tsukiji Type Co., Ltd., in 1963. After experiencing selection (the work of picking up casted prints from a large amount of inventory) and sales, he was assigned to the casting department. After that, in addition to print casting, he has been working on letter printing.
