- He has served as a director of the Kanagawa Prefectural Federation of Engineers Associations, Vice Chairman of the Kanagawa Prefectural Seal Business Association Federation, and Vice Chairman of the National Seal Engineers Association Federation.
Challenge rather than regret without doing it
"private seal is only one for the user, and I try to create a private seal that expresses customer's individuality in a balance of character," says Kunimine.
"The carving skills will improve with the number of times, but in order to improve the thickness, design, and balance of the character lines, you need a bird's-eye view of the whole and the imagination to expand the small world."
Mr. Kunimine, who says, "I try to challenge rather than regret without doing it," said various things, such as hitting the gate of the union workshop in Tokyo, studying with the best teacher at the time, participating in skill competitions, etc. Has been challenged.
He serves as an instructor at a vocational training school, and has been engaged in technical guidance for young people for many years with the guidance policy of "expanding the individuality of that person", and has been engaged in activities to convey skills to elementary and junior high school students.
Meister's skill
For the rubber stamp, it is necessary to cut soft rubber with a blade, and Mr. Kunimine is skilled in sharpening the blade and puts the blade in the rubber according to the shape of the letter accurately.
In addition, Kiguchi sculpture, which engraves materials such as fangs, horns, and wood, generally involves rough carving while reworking, and making the perfect form at the stage of writing, and making full use of polished sculpture skills to create a unique private seal that matches the atmosphere and needs of customers.
Profile
He grew up looking at the back of his father, who was a seal sculptor, and after graduating from high school, he went on the path of seal sculpture.
While working at a seal sculpture shop run by his parents' house, he refines his skills at Kanagawa Prefectural Seal High School.
At the age of 44, he took over his father and became Representative Director.
