  • Born in 1950, from Kawasaki City
  • 1977 Established Shioyoshi of Yokohama Pole
  • As a member of the Edo Japanese Polish Cooperative, he works on the production of Japanese rods for traditional crafts designated by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and traditional crafts designated by the Governor of Tokyo.

Research on good rods that can be caught well and durable.

Based on the belief that "good rod is good and durable", efforts are made to record the specifications of the delivered work in detail, earn the trust of customers, and respond to repeated orders.

"Without good materials, it is important for rod masters to identify bamboo that is used as a material." "Without good materials, you can't make a good rod."

While the number of people engaged in bamboo forestry is decreasing, Mr. Hayasaka visits the bamboo grove, cuts out and drying the bamboo himself, selects good bamboo, determines his aptitude, and straightened the bamboo with his skilled burning technique. We have been making fishing rods that are hard to bend.

In addition, as a member of the Edo Japanese Rod Cooperative, he participates in exhibitions such as international phishing shows, and has opened a Yokohama pole production class at his own store to work on the spread of skills.

Meister's skill

Work of Meister Yoshiyuki Hayasaka

I have been working on the production of Japanese rod (Yokohama rod) for sea fishing unique to Yokohama.

In particular, "rattan roll", in which threads and rattan are alternately wrapped around the hand to prevent slippage, and the "change coating" of lacquer incorporating mother-of-pearl are unique decorations that combine practicality and design.

In addition, taking advantage of his own fishing experience, he has improved Japanese rods while incorporating new materials such as glass fibers, and has explored the making of Japanese rods that match modern fishing methods.

Profile

Work of Meister Yoshiyuki Hayasaka

He moved to Hodogaya-ku, Yokohama in his childhood, and when he was in junior high school, he was a fishing lover enough to make his own fishing rod.

He met a teacher at a fishing gear shop that handles rod making tools, and at the age of 19, he started training as a Japanese rod master while working as an employee of a fishing gear shop.

At the age of 24, he received a baked "Shioyoshi" from his teacher, and became independent at the age of 26.
