Meister's skill

Yoshiyuki Hayasaka Work of Meister

I have been working on the production of Japanese rods (Yokohama rods) for sea fishing unique to Yokohama.

In particular, "rattan rolls", in which threads and rattan are alternately wrapped around the hand to prevent slippage, and "mutual painting" of lacquer, which incorporates mother-of-pearl, are unique decorations that combine practicality and design.

In addition, utilizing his own fishing experience, he has been improving the Japanese pole while incorporating new materials such as glass fiber, and has been exploring the making of Japanese pole suitable for modern fishing methods.
