General National Route 1 (Hodogaya Bridge Construction Zone)

General National Highway No. 1 is a major arterial road that starts in Chuo-ku, Tokyo and extends approximately 717 km to Osaka City. Of these, about 14 km from Hamamatsucho, Nishi-ku to Kumizawa-cho, Totsuka-ku is the Yokohama-shi management section.
The section from the Hodogaya Bridge intersection in Hodogaya Ward to the Kariba IC on National Route 16 (Hodogaya Bypass) is particularly concentrated in Yokohama, causing chronic traffic congestion.

Maintenance effect	Facilitation of traffic flow Following the Kariba construction zone on the Kariba IC side, by widening roads and improving intersections on the existing road, traffic flow will be facilitated and traffic congestion will be resolved. Reduction of accidents We will improve safety by improving the shape of General National Route 1 at the Hodogaya Bridge intersection. Reduction of the load on the road environment By reducing traffic congestion, smooth driving can be expected, thereby reducing CO2 emissions. It also saves gasoline costs and reduces traffic noise.
