What is the basic pension number?

Basic pension numbers are individual numbers commonly used in public pension systems such as National Pension Plan (Kokumin Nenkin) and Employees' Pension Insurance. This basic pension number records pension's enrollment status throughout the period of the public pension. This will enable pension consultation and pension rulings to be made faster and more reliably. Also, if you have already received pension, please use this basic pension number and the pension code representing the type of pension when submitting various reports or inquiries about pension.

It is a 10-digit number, with a 4-digit symbol and a 6-digit number.
