"Yamashita Gakusha Cultural Festival 2022 Summer" was held at the Yamashita Regional Exchange Center (1777-1 Kitahatsusakumachi) for six days from Tuesday, August 16 to Sunday, August 21.

At the Yamashita Gakusha Cultural Festival 2022 Summer, the charm of Midori Ward was conveyed in a fun and easy-to-understand manner with the power of art. The venue, the Yamashita Regional Exchange Center, is a facility that utilizes Yamashita National School (former Yamashita Elementary School), which was built 80 years ago. It is the only wooden school building of Yokohama City School and has become a Midori Ward heritage site. When you enter, you can enjoy the nostalgic classroom atmosphere, especially the stairs are a must-see.

Various events were held, but the characteristic one was "school Speaking of school" blackboard "". Under the guidance of an art college student who is famous for his blackboard art, and drew their own pictures.
Next is "summer Speaking of summer," "craft." A workshop was held to make crafts using wood end materials (wood edges), etc., and it was crowded with many children and parents every day. While I was enthusiastic about playing and crafts, I was able to touch the warmth of wood and the charm of the forest.
The third is "Midori Ward speaking of agriculture." We also sold local summer vegetables and sweets using "Hamanashi", and sold lunches using kitchen cars at Yokohama local production for local consumption support stores. I was very happy to see the parents and children happily eating the lunch they bought.

In addition, with the cooperation of elementary schools in the city, about 200 masterpieces such as children's paintings, pressed flowers, and masks, were displayed in a narrow and lively manner. In particular, the Wall Newspaper was full of fun articles such as "History of Yamashita Elementary School" and "Popular school lunch Ranking".
Thanks to the cooperation of many stakeholders, we were able to successfully complete the 6-day event.
