On Sunday, February 19, an "interesting science experiment class" was held at the Nagatsuta District Center for elementary and junior high school students.
This course was designed in cooperation with Tokyo Institute of Technology, which has a campus at Suzukakedai in the city and is conducting advanced research in the field of science and technology.

I participated in an experiment to extract broccoli DNA, mixed with the junior high school participants.
After listening to commentary on DNA, which is a variety of "blueprints of living organisms" such as animals and plants, as well as humans, grind broccoli with a pestee tree, or "centrifugal separation" using a vegetable drainer. After that, they showed me, "This whitish thing looks like DNA." I felt the pleasure of experimenting while moving their hands and cooperating.
I really wanted more elementary school student students to experience and learn about the fun of science.
Midori Ward will continue to support the growth of Tokyo Tech students who provided guidance and support the participants, as well as young people who will lead the future of Japan.

Tokyo Institute of Technology students serve as facilitators and experimental assistance.
The purple changes to red or blue depending on the liquid to be added.
Junior high school students (let's extract DNA from familiar ones)
I'm looking forward to seeing DNA in the experiment
