Participated in Green Santa Project 2022
On Saturday, December 10, we participated in the “Midori Santa Project 2022”, which involves local elementary and university students to clean up the area around Tokaichiba Station.
On the day of the event, elementary school students gathered by open call for participants and university students from Toyo Eiwa University, Yokohama So Masaru Hanabusa, Showa University, and Tokyo Institute of Technology, which have campuses in the ward, participated in a total of about 50 people picked up garbage. About 5 kg of garbage was collected.
In a park on the way of the garbage pick-up route, a "treasure hunting game" was held to search for hidden treasures (= capsule), and elementary school students picked up garbage while having fun. When the characters in the capsule were connected, it became "recycling" and "wasteful", and university students explained each word in an easy-to-understand manner.
Tokyo Institute of Technology, who was in charge of "recycling", explained using illustrations to clearly explain the importance of "recycling" as much as possible, rather than throwing away what you use.
Manabu Yokohama Somasaru Hanabusa, who was in charge of "Mottainai", enjoyed the children's interest in various situations of daily life, such as the scene of keeping the water out and brushing their teeth. He gave me
Finally, everyone enjoyed and lively learning the "separation quiz", which answers the easy-to-understand "garbage" with XX to answer how to sort "garbage" that is easy to make mistakes.
Mr. Miwa Hamada (Toyo Eiwa University), a university student who participated, said, "I had participated in beach cleanup before and there was a lot of garbage on the beach today, but today I felt that garbage was unexpectedly falling in the city. " In addition, Fuyu Kumatani (Showa University) said, "I picked up garbage and the city became beautiful. "I was able to learn about recycling," he said with a smile.
Wearing a Santa cap and picking up garbage with elementary and university students, I was able to give a smile to the area, which was a very good memory. The circle of sympathy has expanded and the creation of a beautiful city is progressing.
