21,296 elementary school students take on environmental action! 1.89 million yen from city companies will be donated to overseas environmental conservation activities.

Elementary school students in Yokohama work on various environmental activities during the summer vacation. " Great Operation! We took on the challenge of 2022. This initiative is supported and sponsored by companies and organizations in Yokohama City as an initiative that contributes to achieving the SDGs goals. The sponsorship money will be donated to environmental conservation efforts through the United Nations WFP.
On November 29 (Tuesday), a certificate of appreciation will be held on behalf of the participating schools at Shinyoshida Daini Elementary School in Kohoku Ward, where the participation rate of the target grades (4th and 5th graders) was the highest.
All participating schools will receive a letter of appreciation from the United Nations WFP and 10 schools with the highest participation rate of elementary school studenｔ will receive a letter of appreciation from Yokohama.
