What's new! Nishi Ward Tekutekuteku: Sixty-fourth Hiranuma Gas Holder

Walking along the railway tracks such as JR from the south exit of Hiranumabashi Station on the Sagami Railway Line, you can see four pale green "Hiranuma gas holders" through the tracks. In the past, it was called a gas tank, but it is officially called a gas holder.
Cross the Hiranuma Nino Hashimoto's overpass, go up to the rooftop of the second floor of "Hiranuma Pumping Station" in front of tvk Housing Plaza Yokohama, and go to Hiranuma Sawayaka Park at the back of the Hiranuma Meeting House. Opening hours are 9am to 9pm on weekdays and Saturday, 9am to 5pm on Sunday and holidays, and closed on the fourth Monday. Sketching at this rooftop park.
It is impressive because four units are adjacent to each other, including a huge spherical holder with a diameter of about 35m and a capacity of 200,000 m3. When I was a child, it was a cylindrical gas holder. From 1968 (Showa 43), it was rebuilt from cylindrical type to the current spherical type. From here, gas is being distributed to all households in Yokohama.
