What's new! Nishi Ward Tekutekuteku: The 46th IshiKawasaki Promenade

From the east exit of Yokohama Station, go toward Takashimacho and cross the Banribashi Bridge over the Katabira River. The next Asayamabashi Bridge is about 1.6 kilometers of "Ishizaki River Promenade". Walk along the river upstream. The Ishizaki River flows only through the Nishi Ward and was prepared as an irrigation canal during the Edo period when Hiranuma Nitta was developed.
In the next Takashimabashi Bridge, the river turns right, and cross the pedestrian bridge, you will find a quiet walking path around the bridge. Next is Shikishima Bridge, where the "Yokohama way" was built at the port of Yokohama in the late Tokugawa period. Many bridges over the river were completed around 1928 (Showa 3) after the Great Kanto Earthquake. Old cobblestones remain on the road, and along the river there are now few willows. Here, the scenery of the Showa era is preserved.
It's so calm that I can't imagine it's just behind National Highway No. 1. After passing Ishizaki Bridge, Umegasaki Bridge, Hiratobashi, etc., the Ishizaki River turns right at Hamamatsu Bridge, and you will encounter the main stream of Katabira River again.
Next, I would like to walk when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom.
