Excavation was conducted in 1965 (Showa 40), and found to have been built in the first half of the seventh century. From inside, earrings, crystal cutter balls, iron swords, swords, swords, swords, glass beads, and Sue ware bottles were found.
Nishi Ward has a large shell mound from the Jomon period, and has been close to the sea since ancient times.
