Close to Hiranumabashi Station on the Sagami Railway Line, beside the JR Tokaido Line, there is "Sutengu Hiranuma Shrine", which is well known for praying for safe birth.
According to the Yokohama Museum of History, edited and published by the Yokohama City History Museum, it was said that the area was "Hiranuma Shiota" until the Meiji era. There was Shiota in Nishi Ward ...
In the late Edo period, the fifth generation Hiranuma Kubei developed Hiranuma Nitta in this area, which was the mouth of the Kata River, and Nitta was completed by the seventh generation Hiranuma Kubei in the early Meiji era. There was a salt-making industry in a part of it.
From the current road bridge, Hiranumaichino Bridge to Ninobashi Hiranuma, it was a vast "Irihama Shiki". Seawater is drawn in and mixed with sand to make it thicker. The water was evaporated to make deeper salt water, collected in a kettle and heated to make salt. It would have been a salt from delicious Hama.
Suitengu was said to have been at that time, not at the time of Motohiranuma Bridge.
