Illustration of the former Takashima Wharf

Cross the large Takashima Pedestrian Bridge near the Takashimacho intersection to the Minato Mirai district. Suzukake Dori st. is lined with new office buildings and modern high-rise apartment buildings.
Turn right at the Minatomirai 5-chome intersection, you will find a convenience store. Until 30 years ago, the area around this area was a port facility, the entrance to Takashima Wharf No. 1 pier. The scenery was completely different from now, with freight lines, and warehouses were lined up.
The first pier was completed in 1930 (Showa 5) after the Great Kanto Earthquake, and then No. 3 pier was made, and it was a pier for domestic cargo. However, from Pier No. 1 pier, there was a passenger ship on the Oshima route of Tokai Kisen.
51 years ago, I took a boat from this No. 1 pier and enjoyed a voyage to Izu Oshima. A few years ago, "Anko Tsubaki is a Love Flower" sung by Harumi Miyako was a big hit, so I wanted to go to Izu Oshima. Now, there is a boat from Osanbashi to Izu Oshima on Saturday night.
