What's new! Nishi Ward Tekutekuteku: 43rd Slope of connection

Get off at the Sengencho Garage-mae bus stop near Kofuku-ji intersection of Ring No.1. Enter the road with a pedestrian bridge and aim for Sengendai Elementary School on the hill. Crossing the old Tokaido Highway and up the steep slope in a residential area, you will seeYokohama-sta.-nishiguchi and Minato Mirai.
The top of this slope is Asamadai. The masterpiece of criminal film "Heaven and Hell (monochrome, partial color)" directed by Akira Kurosawa, released in 1963 (Showa 38), was filmed here. I'm a big fan of Kurosawa movie.
Now, in the place where the apartment is built, a mansion of the main character, a shoemaking company, dressed as Toshiro Mifune, has been built. The movie begins with a scene in a living room with a large glass door overlooking Yokohama-sta.-nishiguchi. A tense communication with a kidnapper, dressed as Tsutomu Yamazaki, demanding a ransom of 30 million yen, is a sweat.
In Kurosawa's work "Kasama Sanshiro", the nearby stairs to the Asama Shrine Urasan approach are used for location.
