Demonstration project concerning the supply of electricity derived from renewable energy generated by partner local governments

　Yokohama City has concluded a partnership agreement on renewable energy with 16 municipalities, which have abundant renewable energy resources, as one of the initiatives toward the realization of Zero Carbon Yokohama decarbonization by 2050.
　Based on a partnership agreement with Machi Future Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Machi Mirai Seisakusho), a demonstration project was launched in December 2020 to supply electricity from a renewable energy power plant established in the partner local governments to Yokohama City.

　In this project, a retail electricity company that supplies electricity to consumers will be determined by a bidding method, and a part of the electricity bill will be returned to the local government where the power supply is located, and how to use it will be related to local governments. This is the first model in Japan to be decided in consultation with the government (see press release for details).

　In this project, we are looking for businesses that use the electricity generated by the renewable energy power plant of the cooperating local government.

　１. Registration for participation

　２. Submission of survey form
　　Please submit a questionnaire that describes contracted power, past power consumption, and whether or not you wish to purchase environmental value.
　３. Implementation of bids
　　At the Town Future Works, we will check the questionnaire you have responded and conduct a bid to select a retail electricity provider that supplies electricity.
　４. Determination of electric power companies　
　　We will inform you of the results of the bidding, compare the prices, etc., and make the decision of the retail electricity company and start the supply.

　Based on the request of the local government where the renewable energy power plant is located, the e.CYCLE is based on the request of the local government where the renewable energy power plants are located, and will promote "local production for local consumption" of renewable energy. The surplus electricity will be allocated to “exports to cities”. 　We have started supplying renewable energy generated by Aizuwakamatsu City to seven companies in Yokohama.
　Electricity supplied was 7 million kWh per year (estimated) including large-scale office buildings in the Minato Mirai 21 district.
