Initiatives for local production and local consumption of renewable energy utilizing surplus solar power at home
Last Updated November 15, 2024
Purpose
Yokohama City is expanding the use of renewable energy in order to achieve decarbonization by 2050. As one of the initiatives, from 2024, we concluded a cooperation agreement with ENEOS Power Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as ENEOS Power), and switched to renewable electricity by local businesses through local production and local consumption of renewable energy. I support you.
City home solar off-site PPA plan (power supply company: ENEOS Power Co., Ltd.)
Overview
As an initiative under this partnership agreement, ENEOS Power will utilize the surplus electricity of FIT solar from households in Yokohama City to supply electricity to consumers in Yokohama City through off-site PPA to local production and local consumption of renewable energy. The shortfall can be supplied with 100% renewable energy by other power sources within the Group.

With the support of the purpose of local production and local consumption of renewable energy, we started using renewable energy in November 2024. Through this initiative, approximately 20% of the electricity used can be financed by solar power generation generated by households in Yokohama City, and approximately 440 tons per year. ※It is expected that CO2 emissions will be reduced.
※The annual reduction amount is calculated based on the actual demand in FY2023 based on the menu-specific coefficient (0.000459t-CO2/kWh) of ENE Corporation S Power's FY2022 results.
