List of targets for Sakae Library in 2024

This year, Sakae Library will focus on the following goals. This list of goals is based on the basic policy and direction of initiatives of the "Yokohama City Library Vision", and also based on the "Yokohama City Medium-Term Plan", "Yokohama City Educational Promotion Basic Plan", "Reading Activity Promotion Goals" of each ward, etc. Has been formulated.

Basic Policy 1 Library for children who will lead the future

Direction of Initiatives: Create opportunities to expand the world of children.

Enhance books for children and books for child care

Efforts

  1. Satisfy the intellectual curiosity of elementary and junior high school students and collect materials useful for studying at school. We purchase books on engineering, industry, art and language among the books of knowledge. (180 books)
  2. We collect materials that meet the needs of the teens generation, paying attention to fields other than literature. (80 books)

We connect knowledge and experience to draw out the desire to "want to know" and "create" and respond to it.

Efforts

Lectures and lectures for children who learn environmental issues through plastic bottle construction will be held. (August)

Direction of Initiatives: We will prepare an environment and facility that will make you want to go with your child as many times as you want.

Enhance events and child care support services

Efforts

We hold events such as librarians one day to get interested in library and reading. (from July to August)

We will send push-type information that actively communicates.

Efforts

The City Library X (formerly Twitter) account will be used to disseminate information on events for children such as talks. (40 times)

Direction of Initiatives: We support child, child care generation in connection with child care support facility and school, area and the connection.

We will respond to the needs of the child-rearing generation and provide services.

We will hold a talk session at the library and a 4-month-old child medical checkup. (Full year)

Create opportunities for interaction with the same generation and other generations.

Efforts

We will hold a Vibrio Battle in SAKAE by junior high school students in Sakae Ward. (November to December)

Actively connect with children's related facilities and communities to support children and child care.

  1. We will carry out special exhibitions related to child care in cooperation with related organizations. (Full year)
  2. We will promote lending to teachers and staff to elementary and junior high schools so that they can be used for education. (Full year)

Support children's reading and learning together with the school library.

Efforts

In cooperation with the story-telling volunteer liaison meeting based in elementary schools, we will hold story-telling volunteer courses. (December)

Basic Policy 2 Libraries for All Citizens

Direction of Initiatives: Ensure that everyone has access to knowledge and information

We will enhance materials and services to realize reading barrier-free.

Efforts

I buy a large print book for elementary school student with weak eyesight. (Full year)

We collect a wide range of books and enhance the collection in order to create opportunities to get acquainted with books and learn deeply.

Efforts

  1. As an information base for knowledge, we purchase and replace general books and children's books. (Full year)
  2. We will update reference books and basic books that are difficult to replace due to the high price. (50 general books)

Connect books and information with people

Efforts

  1. A bulletin board dedicated to regional information will be set up in the hall to provide a place for exchange of local information. (Full year)
  2. We perform plan exhibition in cooperation with ward office and perform display of related book together and provide information to inhabitants of a ward. (Full year)

Direction of Initiatives: It will be a base for experience, exchange, creation, and transmission.

It will be a place where various experiences and creative activities can be carried out.

Direction of Initiatives: It will be a platform for community development where you can meet the appeal of the region.

We will create a unique library according to the characteristics of the region.

  1. We perform plan exhibition in cooperation with ward office and perform display of related book together and provide information to inhabitants of a ward. (Full year) (Reposted)
  2. We will reinforce collections to provide information that leads to support to the elderly. (50 books)

Visitors to the library will learn about the charm of the area and become a base that connects with the town.

Efforts

It will be a place to create collaboration and co-creation and transmit local information.

We will hold an exhibition to introduce the activities of Nikorinku, a child care base in the Sakae Ward area. (August)

Direction of Initiatives: Collect knowledge and information on regions and towns, archive them, and connect them to the next generation.

Gather diverse knowledge and information possessed by citizens, organizations, companies, etc.

Efforts

We collect local materials by donating to the ward office and the community. (200 books)

We collect not only books but also information on the culture and memory of the city.

Basic Policy 4 Easy-to-use library services

Direction of Initiatives: Utilizing digital technology, we provide library services that can be used anytime, anywhere.

We will promote online use of procedures and references.

Efforts

We will make some online reservations for books that are not held in City Library (mutual loan reservations). (until March)

Direction of Initiatives: We will actively disseminate information.

Increase contact points with libraries by disseminating information using various information tools such as SNS.

Efforts

We will use the City Library X (formerly Twitter) account to disseminate information on events held at the library. (50 times)

We go out of the library and convey the appeal of libraries and books even face-to-face.

Efforts

The mobile library will perform a special operation of makaze at the disaster prevention fair held at Hongodai station square and convey the appeal of books. (March)

Basic Policy 5 Libraries that change flexibly and remain attractive forever

Direction of Initiatives: Cooperate, collaborate, and co-create with various actors active in the community

We will promote collaboration and co-creation with citizens, organizations, companies, etc. who have various know-how

Efforts

Lectures will be held in collaboration with the Kanagawa Prefectural Administrative Scrivener Association Tozuka Branch to support problem solving related to laws faced by citizens. (October)

In connection with town, we support solution of local problem continuously.

Efforts

We push forward purchase of document which we can utilize for exhibition by cooperation business with ward office and plan reinforcement of collection to perform reporting leading to support especially to elderly person in particular. (50 books)

Direction of Initiatives: In order to support the ever-changing library, we will nurture and utilize the librarian, which is the strength of the city.

Improve your expertise in books and information.

Efforts

Actively participate in the training of library staff and enhance their expertise as a librarian. (Full year)
