List of Targets for Hodogaya Library in 2024
This year, Hodogaya Library will focus on the following goals. This list of goals is based on the basic policy and direction of initiatives of the "Yokohama City Library Vision", and also based on the "Yokohama City Medium-Term Plan", "Yokohama City Educational Promotion Basic Plan", "Reading Activity Promotion Goals" of each ward, etc. Has been formulated.

Basic Policy 1 Library for children who will lead the future
Direction of Initiatives: Create opportunities to expand the world of children.
Enhance books for children and books for child care
Efforts
- We will build collections in line with the annual collection plan.
A. We will renew and enhance children's books on social sciences and engineering. (130 books)
B. We will renew and enhance the story of children's books for lower and middle grades. (100 books)
(C) We will replace and enhance the basic books of picture books. (150 books) - Operation of special exhibition corner for elementary school studenｔ (monthly)
We provide experiences and play that can be enjoyed in various senses, such as touching and listening.
Efforts
In cooperation with the Decarbonization / GREEN x EXPO Promotion Bureau, we will hold events for children during summer vacation. (August)

Enhance events and child care support services

- We carry out story-telling party according to child development stage.
- We will carry out work experience events tailored to the child's development stage. (July and August)
- In cooperation with civic groups, we carry out event for children at inhabitant of a ward festival.
We will send push-type information that actively communicates.

In cooperation with the ward office, we will carry out children's book introduction and introduction book display in "Public information Yokohama Magagaya ward version". (Monthly)
Direction of Initiatives: We support child, child care generation in connection with child care support facility and school, area and the connection.

We collect a wide range of books and enhance the collection in order to create opportunities to get acquainted with books and learn deeply.

Connect books and information with people
Efforts
We will operate a special exhibition corner for adults. (Monthly)
Direction of Initiatives: It will be a cozy place to stay
We will promote the creation of a rich space that makes people want to go and stay alone or in groups.
Efforts
We will improve the environment in the building.
Direction of Initiatives: It will be a base for experience, exchange, creation, and transmission.
It will be a place where various experiences and creative activities can be carried out.

We will conduct a library tour for adult users so that they can learn more about the work of the library. (September)
Connect reading with experiences and activities to create an environment where knowledge can be practiced and deepened.

Basic Policy 3 Library for towns and communities
Direction of Initiatives: It will be a platform for community development where you can meet the appeal of the region.
We will create a unique library according to the characteristics of the region.

In cooperation with the Kanagawa Prefectural Administrative Scrivener Association and the ward office, we will hold lectures on inheritance and wills for the elderly. (from February to March)
Basic Policy 4 Easy-to-use library services
Direction of Initiatives: Utilizing digital technology, we provide library services that can be used anytime, anywhere.
We will promote online use of procedures and references.
Efforts
We will make some online reservations for books that are not held in City Library (mutual loan reservations). (until March)
Direction of Initiatives: We aim to achieve both expansion of library functions and provision of library services in highly convenient locations.
We will proceed with redevelopment based on the aging of facilities and equipment.

We carry out adjustment with related organizations with update construction of elevator and public information for users.
Direction of Initiatives: We will actively disseminate information.
Increase contact points with libraries by disseminating information using various information tools such as SNS.

We go out of the library and convey the appeal of libraries and books even face-to-face.

- We will hold a series of story-telling lectures for picture books for volunteers.
- Conduct and coordinate projects in cooperation with volunteers, private companies, etc.
- In cooperation with the ward office, we operate the Hodogaya Ward Reading Activity Promotion Association. (three times a year)
In connection with town, we support solution of local problem continuously.
Efforts
- We carry out plan exhibition in cooperation with business of ward office.
- Promote the use of group lending and group lending.
- We strengthen consultation of reading-related facilities in ward, cooperation system.
Direction of Initiatives: In order to support the ever-changing library, we will nurture and utilize the librarian, which is the strength of the city.
Acquire the skills needed in response to changes.

Promote participation in training, etc. in order to pass on and share librarian skills.
