List of Targets for Kanagawa Library in 2024
This year, the Kanagawa Library will focus on the following goals. This list of goals is based on the basic policy and direction of initiatives of the "Yokohama City Library Vision", and also based on the "Yokohama City Medium-Term Plan", "Yokohama City Educational Promotion Basic Plan", "Reading Activity Promotion Goals" of each ward, etc. Has been formulated.

Basic Policy 1 Library for children who will lead the future
Direction of Initiatives: Create opportunities to expand the world of children.
Enhance books for children and books for child care
Efforts
- We collect materials for barrier-free book corner "apple shelf". (40 books)
- We purchase books for children in foreign languages, mainly English, so that we can respond to inquiries from schools and support from elementary school student and parents who are connected to foreign countries. (20 books)
- We will promote replacement and supplementation of standard picture books. In particular, we will keep in mind the picture book we meet for the first time. In addition, we will use the hometown tax payment to replace and replenish "picture books suitable for reading stories". (100 books)
- We will promote replacement of long-selling picture-story shows and replenishing new picture-story shows. (40 books)

We collect a wide range of books and enhance the collection in order to create opportunities to get acquainted with books and learn deeply.
Efforts
- For those in their 20s and 40s with a high ward population ratio, we collect materials related to employment support, such as qualifications and reskilling by occupation. (45 books)
- We collect IT-related materials such as personal computers and smartphones, as well as materials related to asset management and money such as pension for seniors. (40 books)
- We will update the materials related to the law. (25 books)
- Due to the large foreign population, we collect materials related to multicultural coexistence. (25 books)
Connect books and information with people
