National Pension Plan (Kokumin Nenkin)'s lump sums include lump sum death payments and lump-sum payments for short-term foreign residents.

Survivors who had the same livelihood when a person who paid National Pension Plan (Kokumin Nenkin) premium for more than 36 months as the first insured person (including voluntary insured) died without receiving the old age basic pension or Disability Basic Pension This is a lump sum that can be received.
If you fall under both a widow's pension and a lump-sum death payment, choose one of them.

Claims for death payments

The range and rankings of those who can receive lump sum death payments are as follows.

1. Scope of bereaved families who can receive payment: Spouses, children, parents, grandchildren, grandparents or siblings who had the same livelihood at the time of the beneficiary's death.
2. Order that can be paid: This is the order of 1.

Lump-sum payments are as follows depending on the period during which the National Pension Plan (Kokumin Nenkin) premium was paid.

• The half payment period will be treated as one half of the paid period.
• If you have paid the additional premium for 36 months or more, 8,500 yen will be added.
• If the survivor's basic pension can be received due to death (including suspension of payment), no lump sum payment will be paid.

The right to receive a lump sum death payment expires after two years due to prescription.
