Claiming destination for survivors' welfare pension

pension is paid to the bereaved family when an insured person who is enrolled in Employee Pension Plan (Kosei Nenkin) or a beneficiary of the old age Employee Pension Plan (Kosei Nenkin) dies.

The survivor's welfare pension is paid to the bereaved family when the insured person or the insured person meets any of the following requirements.

  1. When an insured person dies
  2. When he died within five years from the date of first visit (Shoshin) due to a certain injury or illness in first visit (Shoshin) day.
  3. When the recipient of the first or second grade disability welfare pension or the recipient of the first or second grade disability pension before the revision died
  4. When a beneficiary of the old age Employee Pension Plan (Kosei Nenkin) or a person who satisfies the eligibility period of the old age Employee Pension Plan (Kosei Nenkin), or the recipient of the old age or total old age pension before the revision died

Insurance premium payment requirements
In the case of "1." and "2." above, if there is an insured period up to two months before the month to which the death day belongs, National Pension Plan (Kokumin Nenkin)'s premium payment requirement that the sum of the paid period and the premium exemption period must be at least two-thirds of the insured period.

Requirements to receive a survivor's pension

In addition, this premium payment requirement is that if the death date is before March 31, 2026, even if the requirements of the previous term are not met, on the day before the day of death, the most recent base month before the month to which the death day belongs There is a special case that there is no period in which insurance premiums have been delinquent for one year up to the previous month (for deaths after May 1, 1991, two months before the month to which the day belongs).

Requirements to receive a survivor's pension

Scope of bereaved family
The bereaved family who can receive the survivor's welfare pension is the insured or the spouse of the person who was the insured but had maintained their livelihood at the time of death (Including those who are in the same circumstances as marriage.) It is child, parent, grandchild and grandparent, but, about one except wife, it is necessary to correspond to the next requirements.

  1. For children and grandchildren, by the end of the year of the year in which they reach the age of 18, or under the age of 20 and are in a state of disability grade 1 or 2 and have not been married (for children) , Including the case where the fetus was born at the time of death).
  2. Husbands, parents, and grandparents must be at least 55 years old (however, parents or grandparents will be suspended until 60 years old).

The bereaved family whose livelihood was maintained by the insured person or the insured person is a permanent member of the bereaved family who had the same livelihood as the deceased at the time of obtaining the survivor's welfare pension. If it is deemed that the income will not exceed 8.5 million yen per year in the future.

Survivor's rank
Survivors who can receive the survivor's welfare pension are (1) spouses and children, (2) parents, (2) grandchildren, and (3) grandparents whose livelihood was maintained by the deceased. However, there is an age limit for those other than wives.
If the previous ranking is paid, the later rank is not eligible to receive payment.
