Transportation of marine containers by railways has the advantages of safety and certainty, and has a low CO2 emissions per ton of transport, which is said to have an energy-saving effect on environmental measures.
At Yokohama Port, transportation is carried out by marine containers and JR containers based at Yokohama Honmoku Station and Hommoku Futo Station of Kanagawa Rinkai Railway, and plays an important role in collecting cargo from a wide area.
