On December 19, 2023, Secretary Theo of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) visited City of Yokohama, Port and Harbor Bureau to exchange views to promote decarbonization of ports.
On December 16, 2023, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) and the Ministry of Transport of Singapore signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on cooperation with the Green Digital Shipping Corridor for the establishment of a Green Digital Shipping Corridor connecting Japan and Singapore. Yokohama Port has signed the Memorandum of Understanding as one of the six ports on the Japanese side (Yokohama Port, Tokyo Port, Kawasaki Port, Nagoyako, Osakako and Kobe Port), and has confirmed that it will deepen cooperation with PSA and Jurong Port, which are the port partners on the Singapore side.
