On December 19, 2023, Secretary Theo of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) visited City of Yokohama, Port and Harbor Bureau to exchange views on promoting decarbonization of ports.
On December 16, 2023, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and the Ministry of Transport of Singapore for the establishment of a green digital shipping corridor connecting Japan and Singapore. Yokohama Port has signed the Memorandum as one of the six Japanese port partners (Yokohama Port, Tokyo Port, Kawasaki Port, Nagoyako, Osakako, and Kobe Port), and has confirmed that it will deepen its cooperation with PSA and Jurong Port, which are port partners on the Singapore side.
