1 Eligibility
(1) Foreign nationals with status of residence without employment restrictions / Japanese nationality by naturalization
(2) Students can have daily conversations in English and Japanese, and graduate from university or higher.
(3) Those who are passionate about education and can respond to elementary school studenｔ students.
※In addition, the following person corresponding to disqualification matter of Article 16 of the Local Public Service Act cannot apply.
①Persons who are sentenced to imprisonment or higher and until their execution is completed or no longer received.
②A person who has been dismissed as a Yokohama City employee and has not passed two years from the date of the disposition.
③A person who is in the position of a member of the Human Resources Committee or Equity Committee and has been sentenced to imprisonment for committing a crime prescribed in Chapter 5 of the Local Public Service Act
④A person who has formed or joined a political party or other organization that claims to destroy the Constitution of Japan or the government enacted under it by violence after the date of enforcement of the Constitution of Japan

2 Working conditions
(1) Working days, hours, etc.: 3 to 4 hours a day, 2 days a week
(2) Work location: elementary schools in the city
(3) Compensation: 3,000 yen per hour
(4) Employment period: From early April 2025 to March 25, 2026
(5) Commuting allowance and travel expenses:

The Yokohama Board of Education is recruiting foreign instructors to work in its elementary school International Understanding Program. The aim of this program is for the students to learn about the instructors' country and culture. These classes are done in English.

１ Requirements/ Qualifications:
(1) Nationality: All nationalities with valid working visa.
(2) Education: College degree or equivalent and have conversational English and Japanese skills.
(3) Must have interest in education and be able to work with children.
※Individuals who fall under the disqualification items in Article 16 below need not to apply.
①A person who has been sentenced to prison and who is still under the sentence or still subject to the condition/ restrictions of the sentence.
②A Yokohama City employee who has been summarily dismissed for gross misconduct and is still within the two year employment ban.
③A member of Human Resources Committee or Equity Committee who has committed a crime as prescribed in Chapter 5 of the Local Service Public Act.
④A person who subverted the Japanese Constitution or its enacted government through violence and/or has formed or joined a political party or an organization that exists or existed for such purposes, after the enactment of the Japanese Constitution.

２ Terms and Conditions:
(1) Working hours 3 to 4 hours a day (morning), 2 days a week
(2) Location Yokohama public elementary schools
(3) Pay/Remuneration 3,000 yen/hour
(4) Period of Employment From early April 2025 to March 25, 2026
(5) Transportation Allowance Public transportation allowance provided

Applicants will be contacted individually regarding interview date, time, and place (sometime in January, 2025).
