In March 2005, the City of Yokohama established the University-Urversity Partnership Council, with the University and Yokohama City as members, in order to promote the creation of local communities that leverage the wisdom and student power of the university.
Currently, 28 universities are participating, and throughout the city, taking advantage of their individuality and characteristics, they are engaged in various and various regional contribution activities, such as solving local issues and revitalizing the Yokohama economy.
