Yokohama City and JFE Steel Corporation are collaborating on "Creating a Rich Sea through Public-Private Partnership: Demonstration of Improvement of the Marine Environment with Steel Slag Products and Initiatives for Environmental Education-".
This initiative won the 2021 Environmental Award (Group II) sponsored by the Japan Society of Civil Engineers, and the 5th EcoPro Award, Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Award sponsored by the Japan Society for Sustainable Management Promotion.
In response to these awards, we set up a commemorative sign near the balcony facing the Yamashita Koen-mae area where joint research was conducted so that many people could learn about their efforts and achievements in creating rich seas in the Yamashita Koen-mae area.
