Enriching Seas Business
Last Updated February 1, 2024
What is a rich sea-building business?
Yokohama City has been promoting sewerage improvement projects, dredging of sludge on the seabed, and conducting environmental improvement projects such as dredging of sludge on the seabed, and sand covering, etc., in order to improve the water environment of Yokohama Port. There were issues, and further improvement in the water quality environment was required.
On the other hand, as a project to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the opening of the port in Yamashita Koen-mae in August 2009, the Yokohama International Triathlon Competition was held in theYamashita Koen-mae area.
Since 2011, we have selected three locations (Suehiro, Tsurumi Ward Suehiro, Naka Ward Yamashita Koen-mae, and Nojima Coast of Kanazawa Ward) as models for environmental regeneration in the coastal area, incorporating the opinions of experts, taking into account the use and accessibility of the waterfront line in Yokohama Port.
