　In order to improve air pollution caused by automobile exhaust gas, nine prefectures (Saitama, Chiba, Tokyo, Kanagawa, Yokohama, Kawasaki, Chiba, Saitama, and Sagamihara) have been working in one prefecture and three prefectures. According to the regulations, the operation of diesel vehicles that do not meet the emission standards for particulate matter has been banned since October 2003.
　However, some of the cars running in nine prefectures still do not meet the emission standards, so it is important to take measures to reduce the number of violating vehicles. Therefore, in nine prefectures and cities, October is positioned as a strengthening month, conducting vehicle inspections based on the ordinance, and conducting publicity activities such as posting posters in service areas and parking areas.
