In the "Yokohama City Global Warming Countermeasures Action Plan" revised in October 2018, Yokohama City aims to realize the decarbonization "Zero Carbon Yokohama" as soon as possible in the latter half of this century, with a view to 2050. To achieve this, on February 6, 2019, we concluded a “Cooperation Agreement on Renewable Energy” with 12 municipalities in Tohoku, the largest in Japan, and through renewable energy. Discussions have been underway to build a regional recycling symbiosis area.
This time, we will report that we will start using electricity from Yokohama-cho, Aomori Prefecture by six companies in Yokohama City as the first initiative based on the cooperation agreement.
