The city has certified blue carbon as a credit that can be used for carbon offset by other local governments in order to raise awareness of blue carbon and revitalize activities in Japan, which will lead to further revitalization of the Yokohama Blue Carbon Business.
This time, the cultured seaweed (landed height: 509.4 [t]) and the cultured kelp (landed height: 1,255.2 [t]) in Fudai-mura, Iwate Prefecture, which has concluded a cooperation agreement on renewable energy with Motoichi. Has been completed and certified as a credit (58.0 [t-CO2]).
Credit certification by application from Fudai-mura is the second credit certification through blue carbon cooperation between local governments.
