The 8th Yokohama Blue Carbon Symposium will be held!

Yokohama City is working on a global warming countermeasure project "Yokohama Blue Carbon," a global warming countermeasure project utilizing marine resources. "Yokohama Blue Carbon" is promoting global warming countermeasures by integrating the carbon "blue carbon," which is absorbed and fixed by seagrass and seaweeds, and "blue resources" to utilize energy and other resources in the ocean. Furthermore, the improvement of the attractiveness of the seaside environment through these activities is linked to environmental education as "creating a friendly sea." In addition, we operate Motoichi's original carbon offset system that utilized "blue resources" and "blue carbon".
We will hold the "8th Blue Carbon Symposium in Yokohama" as a place for credit creators and carbon offset implementers from FY2019 to announce their daily thoughts and activities.
Tomoya Nagaoka, Marine Environment and Crisis Management Laboratory, National Institute for Land and Infrastructure Policy, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism will give a lecture on "Comprehensive Evaluation of Environmental Value of Coastal Areas including Blue Carbon."
