Wakame's local production and local consumption has three effects: (1) prevention of global warming, (2) improvement of water quality, and (3) promotion of biodiversity. Therefore, Wakame's local production for local consumption is positioned at an important position in the Yokohama Blue Carbon Project, a global warming countermeasure utilizing the sea.
To inform children of the three effects of Wakame's local production and local consumption, we will hold an event where you can experience the harvesting of Wakame at Umi Farm, a marine education facility in Sea Paradise, Hakkeijima, Yokohama.
Through this event, you can learn about the fact that seaweed is cultivated in the sea of Kanazawa Ward and the three effects of Wakame's local production and local consumption.
[This event has been canceled due to the impact of COVID-19. ]
