About highly pathogenic avian influenza (to poultry breeders such as chickens)

Highly pathogenic avian influenza is an infectious disease that has a strong infectivity to poultry such as chickens and has a high mortality rate. In this season, there have been a series of cases of poultry and wild birds not only overseas but also in Japan, and the risk of outbreaks is extremely high throughout the country. If you are raising poultry, we ask that you continue to make every effort to prevent the invasion of highly pathogenic avian influenza.

About bird flu

Avian influenza is a disease of birds caused by the influenza A virus. Influenza A virus that infects birds is collectively referred to as bird flu virus. According to the Livestock Infectious Disease Prevention Law, avian influenza virus is distinguished from highly pathogenic avian influenza, low pathogenic avian influenza, etc., depending on pathogenicity and virus type.
Until now, no cases of poultry meat or poultry eggs and infected with the bird flu virus have been reported.

Thorough prevention measures

In order to prevent infection with highly pathogenic avian influenza, please take thorough measures against epidemics.

・Thorough early detection and early reporting
・Confirmation and repair of gaps and damaged parts of bird nets in the poultry house
・Installation of bird-proof nets such as compost houses and feed storage
・Changing boots and disinfection of fingers when entering and leaving the farm and poultry house
・Check and countermeasures for gaps in the opening of the egg collection and manure belt outside the poultry house
・Disinfection at the entrance of the poultry house
・Rat Control
・Disinfection when entering and exiting vehicle hygiene control area
・Tidy up around farms and poultry house
・Thorough disinfection of trees around the poultry house and spraying slaked lime.
