To those who transfer or sell seeds and seedlings (indication of registered varieties)

Due to the revision of the Seed Seed and Seed Law, from April 1, 2021, it became mandatory to attach the following labels when transferring seeds and seedlings of registered varieties as a business or advertising for sales.

※General varieties are native varieties, varieties that have not been registered, and varieties whose variety registration period has expired
※Violators may be fined 100,000 yen or less.

At the time of transfer (sale) the seedling, one of the indications 1 to 3 must be attached to the seedling or the packaging of the seedling. There is no way to post them in stores.

2. The character of "Variety Registration" and the number of varietal registration
3. PVP mark

※The obligation to use the registered varietal name at the time of transfer (sell) registered varieties (including cases where they were registered in the past) remains unchanged.

If the holder attaches usage conditions, such as prohibition of taking out overseas or restricting domestic cultivation areas, it is necessary to indicate that it is a registered variety and the conditions must be displayed.
※Please confirm the contents of the usage conditions to be displayed in advance with the holder.

Appropriate labeling of required items is required not only for the transfer of seeds and seedlings, but also when selling over-the-counter sales, and order forms that also serve as catalogs and catalogs.
