About highly pathogenic avian influenza in wild birds
Last Updated November 5, 2024
Among dead birds found in the city, Kanagawa Prefecture conducts bird flu tests for wild birds whose cause of death is unknown at a response level according to the location of occurrence in Japan based on national and prefectural manuals.
Current status: Response level 3: When multiple locations in Japan occur
Specifically, please see (outside site) to citizens of "information about highly pathogenic avian influenza" of Ministry of the Environment.
When a dead bird suspected of bird flu is found
Kanagawa Natural Environment Conservation Division (Phone: 045-210-4319 (directly) (weekdays from 8:30 to 17:15)) will inspect depending on the situation, so do not touch it with bare hands, place, bird type, number of birds, etc. Please contact us. In addition, we do not inspect all dead birds. For details, please refer to the following website of the Ministry of the Environment.
