SOS network for elderly people with dementia

Last Updated November 1, 2024

What is the SOS Network for Elderly People with Dementia?

Symptoms of dementia can cause you to lose track of where you are and where your home is while you are out, and you may be missing. Missing people with dementia can be life-threatening and need to be discovered and protected as soon as possible. In Yokohama City, with the cooperation of local stakeholders and related organizations, we are implementing the SOS network for the elderly with dementia for the purpose of early detection and protection of missing people with dementia. .

Let's register information of people with dementia in advance

Information (physical characteristics, etc.) of people with dementia who may be missing can be registered in advance at the ward office or Local Elderly Care Management Center. If you register in advance, you can use the SOS network more smoothly. For more information, please consult with each ward office Elderly and Disabled Support Division.

In Yokohama City, we distribute a "watching sticker" that can identify the identity while protecting personal information so that people with missing dementia can return to their homes early.

I would like cooperation for watching people with dementia in area

Watching in the community is important to find people with dementia who have gone missing as soon as possible. In addition, if more people understand and watch dementia correctly in the area increases, people with dementia and their families can live in the area with peace of mind.

  • His expression is tired and vague.
  • I'm worried.
  • I'm going back and forth in the same place.
  • I'm sitting on the street.
  • Out-of-season clothes, chubby shoes. Etc.

Response method

  • First of all, please speak gently.
  • Watch me not to go somewhere.
  • You may walk for a long time, so please recommend drinks such as water and tea.
