Appropriate maintenance and management of fire extinguisher

　In a fire that occurred in Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture in May 2021, an accident occurred in which fire extinguisher used by employees engaged in initial-stage fire-fighting techniques. ruptured and injured (*). Accidents related to fire extinguisher have occurred in Yokohama in the past.

　If the fire extinguisher body is degraded due to significant rust or the like, there is a risk of injury due to an increase in internal pressure during use. After checking the outer shape of fire extinguisher, immediately stop using fire extinguisher, which has marked rust, and replace it with a new fire extinguisher.

　In 2011, the standards for dimensions, shapes, and quality of fire extinguisher were changed (*). Prior to the change, fire extinguisher had to be replaced by December 31, 2021. If you haven't replaced it yet, we ask you to replace it immediately.
